For the same route in Rijon Adventures, see Mt. Boulder Caves.
Mt. Boulder is a mountain in Rijon, with two floors of caves. It connects Route 55 and Eagulou City, as well as having access to the Rijon Tunnel.

The caves can first be accessed via Route 55 early in the game, but the way deeper into the cave is blocked by boulders requiring HM04 Strength to be moved. The wild Pokémon in this area (1F) are levels 8-9.
Before the player obtains Strength, they must access the cave via the left-hand cave entrance in Eagulou City. This also leads to 1F, but on the other side of the boulder and water barrier. A ladder on this half of the cave (on the right) leads down to the Rijon Tunnel.
Once the player can move boulders, the ladder to B1F in the top-left corner of 1F can be accessed. This leads to an area with higher-leveled Pokémon, and a sign proclaiming the floor to be the "Mt. Boulder ruins". At the end of a rock maze is a patch of water requiring Surf to cross, and beyond this is either Articuno or Suicune.
There are no trainers or items in these caves.

Location Location of Mt. Boulder in Rijon. |
Mt. Boulder can be accessed from either Route 55 or Eagulou City. Unlike in Brown, there are no boulders that need to be pushed, but Surf is still required to travel between the two halves of 1F.
The lower ladder on the right (most easily accessed via the Eagulou City entrance) leads to the Rijon Tunnel and onward to the Egg Appraiser's house in Hayward City.
On B1F there is no longer a legendary Pokémon available to catch, as in Brown, with a TM in that location instead. There are no trainers in these caves.
