Route 71 is a route in Naljo, east of Caper City. It is divided into two halves, with the west half reached soon after leaving Caper City, and the eastern half not reached until the player has received the fifth gym badge from Phacelia Town.
There is a different map for each half of the route, and they are connected directly via Clathrite Tunnel, requiring Surf to cross from one to the other.
The west half leads from Caper City in the west to a gatehouse, which provides access north to Route 72, as well as containing stairs which lead down to Clathrite Tunnel 1F.
To reach the eastern half of the route, the player needs to descend the stairs in the gatehouse to Clathrite Tunnel, and use Surf to cross to the eastern side of 1F.
A colored background means that the Pokémon can be found in this location at that time of day. A white background means that the Pokémon cannot be found at that time.
The east half is accessed via a cave in the west of Phacelia Town, which requires HM04 Strength to pass through. To reach the western half of the route from here, the player needs to enter the cave in the right-hand side of this section, which takes them into Clathrite Tunnel 1F, and use Surf to cross to the west.
